What is PTO?
Avilla PTO is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization. Its membership includes all parents, legal
guardians and staff at Avilla R-13 School.

What does PTO do?
Avilla PTO provides financial assistance to teachers and their classrooms, holds fundraisers for
supplemental educational experiences, and supports school/family social interaction. Our efforts serve
to enhance and maximize the education of every child while aiding them in achieving their highest
potential. Our mission is to promote open and positive communication and understanding between parents and
staff of the Avilla R-13 school. It is our belief that the team effort of a parent teacher organization offers
the best possible learning environment for our children.
 

How do I join?
Interested parents and staff can become a PTO member during open house in August or they can sign
up with one of our PTO officers. Membership runs from August 1 -July 31 and dues are $5.
PTO holds meetings at the school every other month on the 2nd Monday at 4:00pm. If there is a
cancellation we will notify members immediately via text (if applicable), email and social media.
 

The following dates are scheduled meetings @4:00pm

● October 12
● December 14
● February 9 (Tuesday)
● April 12
● Additional meetings will be scheduled if needed

2026-2027 Events + Important Dates

● August 25th- Ice Cream Social during Open House 4:00-6:00pm
● October 23rd- Fall Harvest Festival//Trunk or Treat 5:30-8:00pm
● December 17th– Milk + Cookies with Santa- during school hours
● March 8-12th- Book Fair Hours TBA
● March 10th- Games with Grandparents//Book Fair 5:00-7:00pm
● April 3 - Spring Bingo Night 5:00-8:00pm
● May 3-7- Teacher Appreciation Week - don’t forget to show your support for our teachers!
