Our new year for Parents as Teachers (PAT) is getting started and I'd like to introduce myself! My name is Taleah Johnston and I'll be the PAT facilitator for the Avilla School District. This is my first year doing PAT but we have been participants in the program for several years. In addition to doing PAT, I'll be subbing on occasion along with keeping up with my family (husband and 5 kids) and our farm.
I'd like you to meet my family, as they are what my days revolve around. My husband, Matt, does handyman work, Sylvia (the oldest) enjoys her sheep (The Avilla 4-H Club) and basketball (Avilla Youth Athletic Association), Maelena enjoys tumbling and helping around the house, Omigie is starting kindergarten this year and is my spunky one, Silas gets one more year at home with mom and is 100% boy, and our youngest Martha is in heaven (you can read her story here, https://oawphoto.org/recipient-stories/martha-time-cut-short-anencephaly-infant-loss/ ).
We love our church home, Victory Baptist Church and being part of Encounter Ministries. We used to dairy but knew it was our time to move on. We now just have our beef farm, 2 dairy cows, a garden, and too many pets.
