Music Students Prepare for Performance
With the Christmas concert only four weeks away, Avilla students have been filling the music room with enchantment as they have been singing through the fall season. The bands are also gearing up for performances.
Students in Second and Third Grade sang at our Veterans Assembly. They presented “Land of the Free, Thanks to the Brave” in honor of the men and women who stood up for our freedom.
Fourth and Fifth Grades sang, “On Veteran’s Day.” A song written specifically to let our veterans know how special they are to us and that we remember their sacrifices.
In their first performance of the year, Seventh and Eighth grade band played an arrangement of “America, the Beautiful” that was very powerful. Due to an unforeseen power outage, all groups performed unaccompanied and did an excellent job!
Students are now preparing for our annual Christmas concert. This concert involves every student in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. “A Christmas Celebration” is the title of this night.
A mix of band and vocal music will keep the audience entertained throughout the program. New fifth grade band students will make their debut. Kindergarten through Fifth grade will be presenting a program of music, followed by traditional music from the Sixth through Eighth Grade students.
The evening will conclude with the traditional “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” with a twist.
The concert will be December 17th at 6:00 p.m. in the Avilla Gym. We hope everyone will come out and support our students as they exhibit their hard work throughout their performances.
